The fertile season is upon up us and after the cold, dry winter it seems as spring has appeared with a bang. This months planetary line-up promises plenty of drama and excitement. Half of the planets are in fire signs, about to make a ‘grand fire trine’ configuration. That‘s going to stir up passion, impatience and initiative to change. As far as the sign of Aries is concerned, initiative is the name of the game.

Aries - the go-getters of the Zodiac
It must be a privilege to be born under the sign of the ram, the most head strong change agent on the block. Unencumbered by the restraints of convention, the Aries individual is a competitive mover, shaker and visionary. These people are inclined to boldly go where no-one went before. Couple that with a volatile temper, much need for independence and excitement. Because of this passionate drive some Aries may learn certain things the hard way. One Astrologer noted that Aries can be recognized by ‘visible scars.‘ There is a need to be physical and move around, no couch potatoes here. Many great athletes, adventurers and creative artists were born during this time.

Pisces - The Visionaries of the Zodiac

As the sun moves into the sign of Pisces a collective shift happens from the intellectual into the emotional realm. Traditionally this is the time of Lent, where people fast and purify. In the olden days they didn’t have much choice in the matter. There was little too eat at the end of winter, and little to do while waiting for the new greens. These days you’re encouraged to indulge in fresh leafy greens, or fast for a few days on fresh pressed juice and water. Spring is a time of renewal. It’s also the best time for being physical, a pleasant hike in the hills, or spring-cleaning the house.
Pisces energy is watery, feeling oriented. Water rules feelings, rhythms, cycles and flow. Emotions, literally ‘that which moves us’, are fluctuations of the inner weather condition. Feelings change all the time. Like weather they’re just coming through. Rather than experiencing your emotional ups and downs as beyond your control, consider a proactive approach to your feelings, realize that there is a choice. You can choose to indulge certain emotions, or choose to snap out of them.
Water has various forms. Depending on temperature it’s liquid, solid or vapor. Feelings are like that too. Ever had a feeling evaporate, or freeze? Permanent happiness is as unlikely to attain as permanent sunshine.
Pisceans are the visionaries of the Zodiac. It is the most sensitive, fluid and compassionate of signs. Some Pisceans have a keen ability to pick up on the ideas, thoughts, needs, and desires of others. Many romantics, dreamers, and psychics are born during this time. There is a tendency to blend in with ones environment, to let things evolve, any which way.
The Pisces individual is attuned to the fact that reality has many different faces and dimensions. This ‘other worldliness’ can sometimes clash with, or attempt to evade reality. A Slice of Heaven - December 2006

So, has it been exciting enough for you lately? Emotional roller coasters, revelations, too much inner turmoil? The transit of half the solar system though Scorpio is about to wane, relief is on it’s way. One by one all five of the personal planets Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter are shifting into happy-go-lucky Sagittarius. This makes it easier to look at the big picture, to let go of emotional attachments, and outmoded belief systems. The is more optimism, cooperation and ‘thoughts create reality’ potential for rapid change.

Sagittarius
Some of the most graceful change agents of the Zodiac are born at this time. Always seeking beyond the fences of ’normal’ perimeters, the Sag is driven to explore. Some say the first half of the sign is more philosophical, it corresponds to the human torso of the centaur. The second half of the sign is driven by strong passions and instinct, symbolic for the horse part of the centaur.
All Sagittarians are known for their mobility. They get around, enjoy travel and often live far away from where they were born. Many great philosophers, seekers, gamblers, adventurers and risk takers are born under the sign. There is a need for personal space and freedom, along with a conflicting need of closeness and intimacy. Sag has more on again/off again or long distance relationships than any other sign. Welcome to another ‘slice’ of the astrological pie in the sky. A brief personal sidebar and invitation:

There is a famous Chinese proverb that says: “May you live in interesting times.” Or maybe it’s rather a curse, or a blessing? Times are certainly interesting these days, with half of the planets convened in the sultry sign of Scorpio, including Mercury retrograde and Jupiter the heavyweight. This creates a certain leverage likely to stir up deeply emotional responses, especially about things that were swept under the rug in the past. The water signs Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio will be in their element, while all others may take turns feeling overwhelmed, irritable or like being thrown into the deep end of the swimming pool.

Scorpio
The sign with the stinger is known for it’s affinity to sex, death and transformation. All of life’s major mysteries rolled into one here. Scorpio’s are the toughies of the zodiac. They go through more radical change and dramatic upheavals than almost any other sign. It’s not that life is just being extra hard on them, it’s more like Scorpio requires a different, more drastic, passionate response. There is much physical resiliency. These people can frequently “eat, drink and smoke just about anything, like a good witch should.”
Scorpio’s have a natural inclination for occult and metaphysical matters. Being the sign of fixed water, Scorpio’s get into deep attachments and may find it equally difficult to let go.

Welcome to another look at the current astrological picture.
This month has some fairly intense line-ups, that will be felt most strongly by people born on the cusp between signs. Libra - the peace makers of the zodiac
At the beginning there are 3 planets in the sign of Libra. Some of the most pleasant, easy to be with, charming, mellow and attractive people are born during this time. Libra’s are natural peace makers, negotiators and consensus seekers. Ruled by the lovely influence of Venus the Libra individual is lofty and has a natural need to create beauty and harmony.
The sign is symbolized by the Roman goddess Justitia, the blindfolded judge holding up the scales of balance. Balance is a tricky concept, as anyone who ever used the scales to measure anything can attest. The scales tip this way and that, back and forth. Likewise the Libra individual wants fairness and justice, and may have a hard time making up their minds. They are bright, intelligent and make keen judges and lawyers. The flipside to the cool thinking intellectual side of Libra is the creative, pie-in-the-sky, idealistic artist. Those have a fine eye for design, fashion, jewelry and can be found in related careers.
A major shift occurs after the New Moon on the 21st. Within 3 days Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars move away from peace loving Libra into the intense and deeply transformative sign of Scorpio. That’s going to rock the boat in more ways than one, watch out.

Cancer - the Moonchildren
The Sun enters the sign of Cancer when the days are longest, at the summer solstice The cautious individuals born at this time are influenced by the ever changing cycles of the Moon. This lunar influence on the cardinal water sign makes for strong links with the archetypal feminine. Anyone born on a Full Moon is also likewise influenced. The sign is symbolized by the reclusive Crab: tough shell on the outside, sweet and tender on the inside.
Cancer rules the home and has a certain nesting instinct, so their homes are special places: well protected, broadly supplied and frequently improved. It is a fertile and nurturing sign, with a mothering instinct that extends to all living things. Whether it’s plants, pets, kids, visitors or loved ones: everything is watered, fed, and pampered, big time. Consequently they make the most impeccable hosts, cooks and gardeners. Don’t expect your Cancer friend to come over to your place, they are often attached to their home turfs. Some hardly ever leave, unless in need for supplies. The men born under the sign tend to hide their soft, emotional interior under a layer of extra scruffy masculinity. A Cancer in crisis will retreat into one of their favorite places: the kitchen, the bed, or the bathtub.
