A Slice of Heaven - September 2006

by Lola Babalon

Virgo - the Organizers of the Zodiac
The month of September naturally inclines us to take stock of the status quo, to let go of summertime diversions, and focus on what’s up ahead. For students and parents it’s back to school time, another chapter of education is about to be tackled.
The Virgo individuals born during this time are known to be hard workers, frequently dedicated to a higher cause. They have analytical minds, a keen eye for details and are often found in health and healing related careers. Their digestive systems are sensitive, which makes them interested in nutrition and skilled in the culinary arts.
As the last sign of the first half of the Zodiac Virgo enables the integration of the inner, private self. The next 6 signs, Libra through Pisces are all about relationships and being visible in the world. No wonder there is a quiet, introspective quality to the Virgo individual, which relates to the Tarot image of the Hermit. Independent in personal relationships Virgo’s are drawn to apply themselves in meaningful, often selfless service to others. A girlfriend who married a Virgo once keenly observed: “They get the job done!”

Happy Birthday to the famous Topanga Virgo’s:
Francesca Lemus, Tanja Hunger, Tonia Young, Lala McClave, Lance Roberts, Willow Ross, Elisabeth Golden, Joachim Wiesel, Sandra Bacall, Karenina Nallick, Karla Morrisson and all others not mentioned here.

Calendar:
Here is a brief outlook at the planetary picture for the month ahead. You will be feeling these influences more strongly of your birthday falls near these dates, or in March, June or December.

Sep 1
Venus trines Pluto, Moon conjuncts Pluto
The labor day weekend starts with a fairly intensive date night. Expect radical honesty and a certain amount of reckless abandon. You can channel this passion creatively or by indulging in outdoor adventures.

Sep 3
Mercury opposes Uranus, sextiles Jupiter
Everybody has something to say, and it’s likely to all come out now. Lots of creative ideas, but also impatience and volatile tempers. Good for inventive solutions to old fashioned problems, definitely do think outside the box now.

Sep 4
Pluto SD (stations direct)
When is planet is stationary it's felt more strongly than at any other times. In this case you’re encouraged to let go of outmoded belief systems and focus on the tasks ahead.

Sep 5
Sun opposes Uranus
Feeling a bit antsy today? Here is a chance to celebrate the unconventional, support freedom, independence and honor the need to do your own thing.

Sep 7
Lunar Eclipse, Full Moon 15* Pisces, conjunct Uranus, Mars enters Libra
All eclipses tend to churn up deep seated emotions, and this one promises to be intense for the mutable signs, especially if born in the first week of March, June, September or December. Fasten your seatbelt, expect the unexpected and look out for surprises. Uranus relates to the Fool archetype of the Tarot, so please don’t check your thinking cap, or sense of humor at the door.

Sep 9
Mercury squares Pluto
This makes for deep insights and penetrating thought, which is excellent for doing research. Previously hidden agendas will likely come to the surface. Not a great day for conflict resolution or to reach agreements.

Sep 12
Mercury enters Libra
Time for some much needed diplomacy. Proceed with much needed tact, reason, fairness and a look at all sides of the issue at hand.

Sep 15
Mercury conjuncts Mars, Venus opposes Uranus
You may be feeling restless and antsy today. Tempers are volatile and likely to get carried away verbally. There is a push for independence, an opportunity to find novel solutions for not so novel problems.

Sep 16
Sun square Pluto
This aspect can trigger power struggles. There is a tendency to push the envelope as far as it’ll go. Good for standing your ground, not great for diplomacy or conflict resolution.

Sep 19
Venus sextiles Jupiter
A fine time to tackle health and harmony related issues, and to communicate with loved ones. What's not to love anyway? We’re all in it together and may as well look at the bright side.

Sep 22
Solar Eclipse, New Moon 29* Virgo, Sun enters Libra
This years Fall Equinox marks a major step towards new beginnings. Let the bygones be done with and start from scratch. It’s okay to raise the bar of your goal post, as long as you don’t comprise your values. Think big and focus on making the best of things, where do you really plan to go from here?

Sep 23
Mercury trines Neptune
A fine day to tap intuitive wisdom, have flashes of insight, and vivid, lucid dreams. Also great for meditation, introspection and the visual arts.

Sep 24
Jupiter squares Neptune
This may cause a bit of gridlock in personal or political situations. It’s a slow moving aspect peaking today, so examine your belief systems, widen your horizons and check any righteousness at the door.

Sep 25
Venus squares Pluto
Today is a fine day for major revelations. Whatever the hidden truth, agenda or affair, it's likely to all come out now. You can facilitate this process by radical honesty, transparency and finding out what your partner or lover really, really wants.

Sept 30
Venus enters Libra
Last but not least: Can we all get along now? When Venus returns to her home turf there is a few weeks of much needed cooperation and focus on win-win solutions ahead.
